Two-tier organizers usually make you lift the top off to get at the bottom. This one has a pen tray that slides along the top edges instead, so you push it left or right to reach the compartments below and slide it back.
Layout
- Top: sliding tray, 3.75 in wide, with two sections for pens, pencils and a stylus
- Bottom: a long compartment for glasses or a phone, a square one for a watch, AirPods or clips, and a slot for business cards or sticky notes
Size
9 in wide, 6.8 in deep, 4.5 in tall. It takes about the space of a paperback lying flat, which leaves the rest of the desk clear.
Material
Solid walnut, sanded smooth and finished with a hardwax oil that brings out the grain without a plastic shine. Walnut varies from a light chocolate to a deep brown, sometimes in the same piece. The sliding tray runs in a shallow groove and is waxed so it moves smoothly.
Care
Dust with a dry cloth. Wipe spills right away. Once a year, a thin coat of food-safe mineral oil or hardwax oil keeps the color deep.
